"One Fine Snowball Gathering"

It was a stormy Saturday in late January 2024; the date was the 27th. The rain was relentless during the morning hours. A great day to stay indoors and cuddle up in a comfortable chair and read a good book or just take a nap. But they came, from as far South as Mobile, from the West, Anniston, from Huntsville in the North, and from the East, Russellville. To a place just North of Birmingham, Alabama, known as Mount Olive, Alabama. I believe everybody got more than their share of hugs, I’m quite sure that some folks may have gone around the room getting a second round of hugs. (I’m not going to call anyone out, but it may have been yours truly.) The crowd wasn’t as large as last years, but everyone was in great spirits (not the bottle kind, the mood kind). It seems that everyone had a grand time, there were plenty of snacks; that Southern Wine (Iced Tea) that Jim Jackson is always talking about, hot coffee, water, and even a couple of colas. We took care of the business that was one of the primary reasons for the gathering and, low and behold, then came door prizes and there were more than enough to go around. Before the gathering broke up, of course, we had the 50/25/25 drawing and, believe it or not, the folks that won both halves were married to each other. Yep, a husband and wife team. We all bid everyone safe travel, fair well and, of course, another round of hugs. Thanks to all who took time to attend. Until we gather again, Safe Travels, to all.
